The corporation that is Briggs & Stratton has just announced it is expanding through acquisition in Australia and New Zealand. As one of the largest manufacturers of air-cooled gasoline engines worldwide, Briggs & Stratton has been making some global moves and acquisitions in the realm of lawn mower and garden manufacturing firms.
With a line of engines and other lawn-manicuring units, the company has made its mark in the business of going green. Briggs & Stratton designs, manufactures, markets and services these products for original equipment manufacturers worldwide. Briggs engines are primarily aluminum alloy gasoline engines with a full department behind each one pushing for environmental safety and cleaner running engines.
Acquisition Down Under
Earlier this year, Briggs & Stratton surprised the gasoline engine world with their acquisition of Victa Lawncare Ltd on June 30. The Australian gasoline as well as diesel engine manufacturer with similar power lawn and garden products as Briggs & Stratton was purchased for $24.8 million in cold, hard US cash.
