With the vast amount of Briggs and Stratton lawnmower engines out there today we at Briggs Small Engine Parts thought it would be beneficial to give you a head start on selecting the proper lawnmower for your residential lawn needs.
Since these engines go into so many fine lawnmower products we will keep the manufacturers and the brand names of these lawn maintaining tools out and just give you the basic facts on selecting a great lawnmower.
There are a few things to consider when purchasing a new lawnmower and to help you match your needs to the perfect lawnmower please have a look at these tips.
• Engine Needs
Since Briggs and Stratton engines can be located on several different brands of lawnmowers, make sure that you purchase a mower with a quality engine. This Briggs & Stratton engine will be the one that is perfect for the job you are going to do on a regular basis. From power mowers including small walk-behinds to large zero-turn mowers and garden tractors there are many choices that can be made.
• Yard Size
The actual size of the yard is going to decide partly into what type of mower you select. Normally, a walk behind mower is a great choice for yards that are half of an acre or much less. A good rule of thumb is the smaller the yard the smaller deck for your perfect lawn mower selection. A 20-inch walk-behind mower may be perfect for a smaller yard, but a 21-22 inch mower for a larger yard will do quite nicely and will also make short work of your weekend yard cutting job. If the yard is three quarters of an acre or maybe larger than it will be a front engine lawn tractor or maybe a Briggs & Stratton powered zero turn lawn rider. Go with the mowers that have at least 14-16 horsepower and an overall larger mowing deck. The deck should at least be 38 inches in order to get that yard cut and get back to the game!
